The festival is the school's annual showcase and is already part of the city's cultural calendar. The students show what they have learned in a repertoire of rock, pop and pop rock, and it is common for them to share the stage with musicians who already play around town. For the audience, it is the night to see a son, a friend or a nephew with an instrument in hand. But the festival is not only for family. "It's worth going even if you have no relative on stage, just to see the new talent. There are some really good people up there," says Leonardo Pires, founder of Angrious. According to the school, the money raised helps to broaden and promote the music made in Nova Petrópolis.
Music Class, which is celebrating 16 years, was founded in 2010 by Silvio Altreider, and some of the best-known musicians in the region have taught in its rooms. Today the school has three partners: Lucas Auler, Yuri Maia and the drummer Estevan Gallas, of Dinamite Joe, who also plays with Duda Calvin, former vocalist of Tequila Baby.
One of the bands in this edition was born at the school itself. The rock band Impermanentes, which plays its own songs, brings together two current Music Class students, the drummer Marcio Silveira and Noel O' Rand (guitar, keyboards and vocals), and two former students, Guilherme Benkenstein (guitar and vocals) and Henrique Kolling (bass and vocals). The festival is the band's first show, and it will play reworkings of songs by Noel O' Rand and unreleased songs. It may also be one of the only chances to see the band live: no other date is set, and Noel O' Rand moves to Spain in the second half of 2027. For the band, the night is a debut and a farewell at once.
Angrious is one of the festival's supporters. Impermanentes is one of Angrious's bands, and Noel O' Rand is the stage name of Leonardo Pires, founder of Angrious.
